Nick was always there for me when the trivial life of a teenage girl got me down. He was always the one to pick me up, tell me everything would be ok, and that he would always be there.
I know he would want me to move on but I cant, the yahoo pool rooms are so empty and have to many memories, yahoo messenger isnt worth having, and msn just isnt the same. Warcraft 3 isnt either. Not only was nick basically my best friend he was my partner at kicking but on that game.
We all miss him and in the end we will all be with him again.

Nick would bring light to the guild he was one of the best member in the guild I had always happy, smiling, having fun, loving SWG... esspecially Entertainer... he would love to do musician or dancer profession in the game... he would always ask us to come and see him in the cantina and we did.
He would always go on about Twi'leks.. awww he wanted to marry my twi'lek in SWG
He always been there for me.. always happy to help with the guild.. having fun.. having a laugh in guildchat.
We miss u so much my friend... We will always remember the good times we had in Star Wars..
Our thoughts are with Nicks family and friends.

nick my cousin and friend  / Tracy Abraham (cousin)
This year has been a hard year for us all, nick was not only my cousin he was my friend, so not having him here is very hard and something i have found hard to deal with. But nick always made me smile and those memories live with me and always will, it was an honour to have nick as part of our family my boys loved nick to, dispite his illness he still managed to wrestle with them and give them much love and affection,and for that he got lots of love in return.
nick was a joy to be with from the time he was my page boy and i made him wear a suit he laughed, to the time i nearly got run over getting him a metallica poster after a concert, the last time we spent together was a night at the dogs where he beat me at the last race and we stayed up till the early hours laughing.
given that the distance that we live away from london, our contact by either text, or messenger service or phone call was easy and those miles didn't seem so far.
so when you hear the name nick butcher honour him with a smile and a laugh because thats what nick would want, so now i've replaced my tears with plenty smiles.

I only met Nik a few times mainly playing JK and was always a laugh, even when i applied to become a member of TG he was taking the micky about my age, Ill always remember nik for his amazing attitude towards gaming a real gentleman even when we had lamers on the server, forever making light of the situation. His attitude was of a person after my own heart never bad mouthing ppl and always willing to help anyone even at the cost of him having a minus score. Well all i can say is i hope his family know that they are in our prayers always and Nik will be remembered by all TG for what he was a "Legend", his memory will go on within TG forever. TG Legend - Nikonus

TG|Nikonus aka Nick Butcher joined TG on the 10th November 2004. He already knew TG pretty well having been the leader of the Ragin Flamez clan in JK2, and played TG in the JK2 clan league of the summer of 2004. He was known and liked by a great number of TG's JK2 players, who knew him well enough that after RF collapsed and Nick applied to TG he was auto-accepted straight into the clan.

Nick very soon became part of the crowd at TG, often being the person who started the chats in the forums, or the person left on Teamspeak at 3am who you'd end up chatting to until you both were about to fall asleep.

Naturally having come from RF, his first games with TG were JK2 and JA, but it was when the new CSS division that Nick took on his first responsibility and became CSS SL. He helped the CSS division set up and fund the server, as well as sort the squads out and start bonding a group of players into the CSS team. Things didn't work out so well though, and eventually Nick spent most of his time playing what would become the love of his gaming life, Starwars Galaxies (SWG).

After he had racked up his first 50 hours spent in-game Nick decided he couldn't stay as CSS subleader and quit the post. He quickly became one of the SWG guilds most liked players though, always online, and always willing to help the other players out with whatever they had to do in the game. As someone who had fought all his life to conquer illness, and had suffered physically because of it, SWG gave Nick the chance to be the person he always tried to be, and his illness couldn't stop him doing anything he wanted to in the game.

And that's how things would have continued, if we suddenly hadn't have had one of the biggest shocks TG as a clan have had to face. I'll quote the post that was made at the time.

As you can imagine, Nicks death shocked the clan to its core. In such a short time he had made an incredible impact on the clan, and a good number of friends. His loss was felt deeply. Several members decided to quit TG after hearing the news (luckily they eventually came back) and the rest of us were left wondering if we could have said goodbye or if we should have taken more notice of the warning signs he left. In the end though all we were left with was a multitude of good memories, contact with Nicks family via the forums, and the impulse to hold some memorials in the way only a gaming community could.

Why is Nick amongst the TG greats?

Its simple – because he was a example to us all that no matter what happens to you in this world, there is no excuse for letting it get on top of you, or taking it out on others. Nick never let on about his illness, except in a few cases when people actually asked, and he certainly showed us all how to have fun, make friends and take everything you can out of this community. He also should never be forgotten, and this, in a small way, will help with that.

   I did not know Nick, but I know the pain of the loss of a loved one and great musician. I know to say "I am sorry" does little or nothing to help to ease your pain.  So I give my condolences to all that love him.
Remember this body is only a carriage, that the spirit never dies, and the love is never lost.  May you try to find comfort in your happy memories. Take care of yourselves and love one another.
Hope to meet you on the otherside, Nick.  Playing with someone of the best now, bet it's awesome.

On Wednesday the 23rd of March 2005 Nick Butcher, aka TG|Nikonus passed from this life in his sleep at the age of 21. 

Just incase people didnt know, Nick had a rare condition of the lungs that meant he has always had to fight illness. But fight it he did, and unless you actually asked he would never let on, he always just got on with things, joked about it, had fun and made all our lives better for it.

Gaming also became a big part of his life. He came to TG wanting to play Jedi Knight II with us, as he'd known many of us for months/years before. He quickly became part of the scenery at TG, always on IRC, always joking on MSN, and always on Teamspeak taking the micky out of people or shouting when someone (or he himself) did something stupid in a game. Recently though Starwars Galaxies became his game of choice, and it was rare to not see his X-Fire profile with that little icon showing.

But now he's gone
